materials: seed broadcast newspapers made into puppet with bamboo from my yard, painter’s tape, and a white cloth of unknown origin. red dress ripped from moshing and a thick cotton clown coat found at a garage sale in willits. months of studying deep puppetry, separately and together. a sheepskin from my friend’s flock. fen’s panasonic pv-dv900 digital camcorder. clear prison television sourced from ebay. wood box acquired while buying old blues records off craigslist six years ago. film sped by 500%, a technique drawn from work i made ten years ago. sound and video recorded where the i-40 meets the rio grande.
